NORTH ISLAND TOURNEY. Per Tress Association.. AUCKLAND. December 7. The various bowling clubs in Auckland are making preparations for the North, Island Bowling Association 'tournament, to be held in Auckland, commencing on January 6th. The various teams are being got together and practice indulged in. The li-ecretary of the Association advisee thati he expects record entries, and he believes it will be the largest, tournament, yet held in the North Island. A meeting of the local delegates to the Northern Bowling Association was held last evening. A programme of the various events propceed to be carried out wis' submitted and discussed and ordered to be- s>?nt-to Wellington for confirmation. It. was announced that Mr Myers had notified his intention of entertaining the visiting and local bowleis at a harbour excursion on the. evening of the first day of the. tournament (January 6). It was decided to offer a citizens'; prize open ten members of any club affiliated to til© North Island Association. Tha firct prize will bs a gold medal and trophy, value £3 3s to each member of the team; the second prizs a. gold medal and a, trophy value 3Cs to each member of thei team, and thei third prize a trophy valued £2 2,s to each member. With such handsome prizes and the all round excellence of the programme there should ba record entries for all events.
