MELBOURNE, December 5. The hide market is dull, and prices are one farthing lower all round.
GISBORNE WOOL SALES. Per Press Association. / GISBORNE, December 5. The local wool sales to-day were'very disappointing, sellers' and buyers' ideas of value being far apart. Not a bale was sold, growers preferring to export to London. The highest price offered for fleece crossbred was '7d.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. report under date London, December 4th:—" Sincei our last telegram prices for ' prune mutton and edible beef and tallow, are higher by 3d, other descriptions of tallow are Is higher."- < - - -~ '„ '
