GERALDINE BOROUGH COUNCIL

I The usual monthly meeting of the above was held /on Tuesday evening. Presenti His Worship 'the Mayor (Mr J. Maling) and 'Councillors Hislop, Logan, T. fherratt and W.. A. The Finance Committee recommended that the asphalting and channelling uvork should be put in hand a$ there would be £l2O for auction licenses due in "January. —lt was resolved that asphalting be done in the order of the applications already made and that the Works Committee make an inspection with a view to recommending what part shall be channelled. Applications frdm Ogilvie and Fife for permission -to take -a drain across the streat, from Mrs Mcllroy for an extension of the water service to her property, from J."_ Maftland for permission to build an Addition to bakehouse and from A. M. Mdlraith to erect a verandah in Talbot street, were all granted on the usaul conditions.

Accounts amounting to £97 8s were passed for payment, bringing the overdraft up to '£3o4 16s sd. The receipts for the month'had been £4B 18s lOd.
