THE SOCIALISTS DEFEATED. Press Association-By Telegrapli-Copyiight LONDON, November 6. The Socialists were defeated in municipalities, and badly beaten at Accrington, Blackburn, Croydon, Darlington East Hani, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, PTeuton, and Rochdale. They won seats at Colne Valley, Sunderlaurl, Midd 1 nibnrough, Burnley and Sheffield. The Unionists gained from one to isix seats in 57 boroughs, which returned Liberals or Socialists to Parliament.
