Cargoes; are firm, and Australian shipminis are held for 405.. A cargo has been cold at 39s 9d, and Victorian May shipment is offered, at 38s 9d. Flour is vsry firm ; on passage parcels are held for 28s" 6d. The prices asked for shipment prohibit business. The Bradford wool market is quiet, and unchanged, prnding opening of the London ■sales.

The butter market is firm ; Danish, life to 116e; New Zealand, 106s to 108s. Colonial is quiet, and buyers are awaiting the arrival of the new season's shipments. There is a good demand for a few choicest qualities which are offering.

Messrs Webb and Kemptkorne. have received the following cable message from the Colonial Consignment- and Distributing Company's London Office :—To-day's quotations on the frozen meat market arc:—Canterbury mutton, 4£d ; Napier, Wellington and North Island, 5-gd; lamb, first quality, old; second, sd; beef, hindquarters, 3|d ; forequart.evs, 2|d. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report under date, London, September 19th:—"The. frozen meat market is dull, but prices are unchanged. The butter market is firm. The Copenhagen official quotation is two kroners. higher. We expect, a rife, in prices, except for inferior qualities.'' •
