TIMARU GRAIN MARKET. Wheat. —The position of the wheat market is very firm, and there has been ;•-. good enquiry for milling sorts. A few; sales have been made at 4s 9d free o* board, which price is a fair indication of values, but in the uncertain, state of the market, this is really only a nominal quotation. Velvet alone is very scarce, and will probably .command a high.r price; and it- is generally anticipated that owing to the further rise of lCs in tiour there wiflTbe a strong enquiry nest week, and another riss in wheat may b? expected. Oats.—The market is veiy dull, not much basin£6s is doing aad values are equal ti> 2s 9(1 for Garten*, and 2s 9d and 2s lOd for Danish at- country stations- Potatoes.—There is a good enquiry for Berwents at £2 lO.v to £2 15s at country stations, but Up-to-DaUs are quite unsaleable.
