The Government are trying to annul the charter of the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey which holds 9990 out .10,000 outstanding shares of the Standard Oil Companv, Indiana, which' was: recently fined 29,0G3,0C0 dollars. Yesterday before the Federal Court the New York Companies' assistant-controller stated that tlie - Standard Oil New Jersey's gross assets had increased from 26,,791.000 dollars in 1899 to 371,664,000 dollars in 1906, and that during the same period the total profits aggregated 490.360,000 dollars, paying 303,359,000 dollars in dividends.
