AN AUSTRALIAN NAVY. MELBOURNE, September 16. When Mr Deakin returns to Parliament he intends to 'make an announcement in regard to the- immediate steps to be taken to construct an Australian navy. If the liiffeienee between the cost of construction in England and Australia is not unreasonable, Parliament will be asked to sanction a system of warship construction by private enterprise under Government supervision.
