THE HON. W. HALL-JONES
HIS FAREWELL MESSAGE. Per Press Association. CHRIST CHURCH. July 11. TII9 Hon. W. Hall-Jones, Minister of Public Works and Minister for_ Railways, embarked on the steamship Kaipara at Lyt-telton this afternoon, and tho vessel is expected to sail for England at 5 o cloc!; to-morrow morning. Ilia Minister was accompanied by Mrs Hall-Jones. Miss Hall-Jones, and Mr G. G. Schmidt- (private secretary). When asked for a farewell message, Mr Hall-Jones r-t-plied : " Tell the people how very grateful 1 am for all their kindness. Tell them how I appreciate the consideration shown me bv my colleagues and the members of Parliament, the good wishes of pubbc men. of the local bodies, of the press and the people generally. Tell them that a ll , this kindness has done me good. I lee! tho ■ better for it." Mr Hall-Jones also spoke in confident tones of his return a few months hence in full health. The Kaipara is due at Eondon on August 28th, and will call on the way at. Monte Video, St. Vincent, and Teneriff?.
