Admiral Yamainoto, on being inter viewed here, thought the passing storm between Japan ' and the United States would disappear in the waters of tlie Pacific. Much depended upon the attitude of the press. He appealed to the-newspapers to use their influence to maintain peace. The State Department at Washington states that no negotiations are proceeding between Japan and the United States.
