TIMARU—WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19th. (Before Mr. C. A. Wray, S.M. DESERTION. Reginald G- F. Blackwell, was charged with," on February 14th, 1905, deserting from H.M.S. Challenger at Port qlialmers. He pleaded guilty. Sub-Inspector Green said the Challenger was not at present in New Zealand waters. He asked for a week's remand to see what vessel -accused could be sent' to. His Worship granted the remand on.the understanding that accused would be sent to the first available of H.M". ships. CIVIL CASES. >. was given for plaintiffs by default in the following cases:—W. A. Scott and Co. (Mi- Tripp) v. A. Webster, claim £2 12s 6d on a promissory note, and costs 12s. J. Young (Mr W. Shaw) v. Airs Dore, claim £5 12s sd, with costs £1 3s 6d. M. Mullin (Mr S. G. Raymond) v. A. R. Allan, claim £3O 10s 6d for rent, with costs £2 4s.
