ILLEGAL TRESPASS.
A DESPERATE STRUGGLE. Per Press Association. 'AUCKLAND, June- 19. A resident of 'Alfred Street, / Onehunga, was awakened this morning between's. and 6 o'clock by-hearing a noise in the kitchen, and on grasping a revolver and proceeding to investigate, ho found a strange- man in the house.; • ' ' - ,_ On the intruder being asked . his business he replied—" Surely a man can get a feed in his house," and" it is alleged he immediately closed with-his questioner. A desperate struggle ensiled, during which chairs were broken and tables overturned, but eventually: the stranger was ' overpowered, and Nonstable McGlone was sent for. The intruder- was then arrested. ■_ From inquiries made this mprning :-,iti appeared that the man had sat lor sometime on the verandah, and had then got into the bouse, probably by a door which was not securely fastened.' The contehtion is that a mistake- was made in getting into the wrong bouse, as nothing in the! shape of a burglary was attenipted, and the arrested party had only been living in the district for about a fortnight. The matter was brought up at Onehunga Police Court this morning, but when the accused was called on he was too ill to appear. The case was adjourned-
