The specimens exhibited are the work of Begg's Dunedin violin expert, Mr James Flint, who has made thi* branch of musical instrument making and repairing his- special study. One of the violins is ;i copy of a celebrated Klotz, which is a 'very old family heirloom of the Begg's; the other is a copy of h vaulable Degani, belonging to Mr Thus. Dow, of Dunedin; both being built to order. Begg's, as is well-known, undertake the building, repairing and adjust ing of all classo of violins, and besides their large stock at Timaru and their various other branches, their selection of old and valuable instruments in Dunedin is probably without a rival in the Southern Hemisphere.
