OIL LAUNCH ON FIRE.

Further particulars concerning the fire on the oil launch and the drowning of. three Maoris, ishow that the fire was caused through a lantern being dropped. Rene T'ewhetu pluckily endeavoured to extinguish the flames with his coat, and Momane fell overboard while hastening to assist and some of the others jumped overboard.' Aperahama Tewhetu was drowned jwliile trying to save his wife and their little son ; Molii was also drowned as Well as Mrs ReriaUi, an tdilerly woman. There were eleven persons in the. launch and eight were saved.
