Striking Testimony TO THE VALUE OF STUART Motor. Cars, THE ALL BRITISH- GARS. WE are- in receipt of a Copy of the following Letter from the AUTOMOBILE CLUB of Great. Britain and Ireland, to the STAR ENGINEERING CO. (the manufacturers of Star Cars, known in New Zealand as the STUART). The following Letter bean) a striking 'testimony to the Workmanship and Material put into these famous Cars. Every part is made i>£ High-grado Material,. and the Machine is designed on good engineering principles and meant for service, as in all good British Machinery. This is the second Car of the same make supplied to the; Club (the controlling body of automobiiism in Great- Britain), the former being a 7/9 horse power supplied in June, 1902, and which gave such good results. THE ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB, 119 Piccadilly, -London, W. THE "STAR' MOTOR AGENCY, 16, Upr. St. Martin's Lane, W.C. Dear Sir, —As requested in yours of the 1 27th March, I have pleasure in giving you the following particulars regarding the 14 h.p. Star Car purchased by the Club in January, 1906. The Car was delivered in Febmaiy,49G6, and was at once put into use for the purpose for which it was purchased, namely, that of teaching Members of the Club and Members' servants the art of driving. Ihe Log Book shows that the Car has now run over 10,000 miles, number of lessons given 552. Number of candidates examined in connection with the Club's Certificates Department, 518. The cost of repairs and replacements to the mechanical? portion of the car for thirteen months has been nil. At the end of this time it was deemed desirable to dismantle the Car to ascertain the amount of wear on the mechanical parts, and I am pleased to inform you that the Club have every reason to be satisfied with the result of this examination. The gears show only tin- slightest wear, and the ball bearings tt> iaine are perfect. Regarding the Engino, only one of the big brasses want, attention, the gudgeon pins being unmarked. The valves and springs are the original ones supplied with the Car. and are in excellent condition. The chains and cliaiij wheels are also in excellent ord<?r. and apparently tit for a lot of work yet. The clutch leather is still in good order. Yours faithfully, (Signed) J. W. ODE. Secretary. IF A STUART IS UOOl) -ENOUGH for (his jrivat- C!u!>, it is good enough for you.
