INVERCARGILL, May 28
A meeting of flax-millers and. merchants was held to-day for the purpose of considering the new regulations relating to grading and export. The greater number of the 25 regulations were not, seriously objected to, but; others were considered prejudicial ,to the interests of the industry. A number of resolutions were carried, the principal of which were to the effect that the export of cfondemned fibre be allowed, provided it is under certificate that it had be;n condemned, that the Government be recommended to , appoint a chief • grader? and asked for a conference with the Minister and Secretary for Agriculture.
