WHEAT FOR THE FAR EAST.

The steamer Vermont sailed for Hongkong and Yokohama, with 224,000 bushels of wheat. This is the largest shipment from South Australia to the Far East.
The Canterbury Farmers* Co-operative Association, Ltd.," are in receipt of a cable message from their London Office under date 28th May as follows : :" Lamb—We quote to-dav's value of prime Canterbury lamb, at Smithfield market, for 28 to 421bs. s£d per lb: 42 to 48Ib<=. S.ed per lb. The market is heavily supplied, and prices difficult to make especially for light weights. Mutton—We quote to-day's value of prime Canterbury mutton at Smithfield- market-, for 48 to 64lbs, 4-Jd per lb: 64 to 72!bs. 4£d per lb. The market has an improving tendency."
