IN RE LEWIS AND THOMPSON.

A sitting of the District Court was held at the Court House yesterday morning, Mr T. Howley, clerk of thei District Court, presiding in the absence of the Judge. Mr W. Shaw appeared in support of an application ' (1) to, dispense with personal service of a summons ordering Charles James Lewis and J. S. Thompson, carrying on business as Lewis and Thompson, t . O - show cause why they should not be adjudicated bankrupts; (2) to order substituted service of the summons in such mode as to the Court should appear proper. The Court granted Mr Shaw s application, dispensing with personal service, and ordered bv way of substitution that a copy of the summons and petition should be served on the Deputy Official Assignee. The petition, which is set down for hearing on Monday next, was made by Mr Alexander Fra,scr,' of T'imaru, jeweller.
