A sensation has been caused in the Punjab owing to Sir Denzil Ibbetson, Lieut.Governor of Punjab, being granted six months leave of absence in order to undergo an operation. __ The native editor of the Indian "Home Ruler," which is published ■at Bombay, has bfen sentenced to a year's imprisonment for seditious articles. LOYAL MOHAMMEDANS. CALCUTTA, May 17. The Mohammedans throughout India, folio-wing the example, of the Mohammedan gathering at Lahore in. April, are holding meetings denouncing the seditious attitude of the dregs of the- Hindu population, and reaffirming 3 their loyalty to the British.
