McCullough, of Christchurch, as the workers' representative on the Arbitration Court, Mr Roaser said that he was still as strongly as ever in favour of Mr Slater, but in order that the Auckland Council should not be open to the accusation of kicking over the traces, he proposed that the unions be left to deal with the matter individually. Mr Rossar commented on recent awards of the Arbitration Court, and said he felt safe in saying that they were on the upward grade as regarded wages with.the new President, Mr RosserV proposal was substituted for a motion recommending Mr Slater, and it was carried unanimously.
