ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
Mi' R. Lowe, of Temuka, met with a serious accident yesterday while chaffcutting at Milford. He was repairing the cutter, which was revolving slowly, when his left hand cam© into contact with {he blade?, .and was' severed at the wrist. _ Mr L-O'ive was at once- taken to the. private hospital at Temuka and attended., to. Sir Jolin Butcher, when driving through .the Waimate Gorge on Wednesday night, was thrown from his horse owing to the animal shying, . and. was badly knocked about. He. was taken to the hospital, and is progressing favourably. »
