The dress circle was well filled, extra seating accomodation having to be provided, while the downstairs portion ot the house wa-s crowded. The nist half consisted of a number' of very good films, mostly of a humorous nature, and these were greatly enjoyed by all. Of those surpassing in lucidous incident and exciting adventure were "The Village Fire Brigade," ■ When Storms do Blow" and "A Race for Life." " The story of the Ke!ly Gang" occupied nearly two hours, and the expectations of the audience were fulfilled. The series of pictures depicts the scenes and incidents in the life of the famous Kelly gang, commencing with Ihe attempted arrest for -cattle-stealing of Ned Kelly and following- the gang's career to their failure to wreck the train, -the burning of the Glenrowan Inn, and the tragic deaih of Steve Hart and Dan Kelly, who meet at their own hands. The series concludes with the -encounter between Ned Kelly and -the police, resulting in his ■•arrest- and the extermination of the bushrangers from Australia. The story was well-known to most- of the audience, and ;i lull synopsis of events was provided in the programme, so that the picture story was presented under the best conditions. 'lhe mechanical effects and transformations were exceptionally good, and the conversation of the various characters was ah-o reproduced, this accompaniment greatly assisting in bringing cut the full dramatic force of the subject. The picture's themselves are very clear, and thero is a pleasing absence from flickering. There Avill b? a complete, change of programme for the first part of this evening's programme and the story of the Kelly gang iifill be repeated, -and everyone should avail themselves of the opportunity of seeing this fine specimen of cinematograph skill.
