ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
Per Press Association. UISBORNE, March 22. Mr Andrew Sharp, a well-known commercial traveller, representing the Phoenix Company,' Dnnedin. met with a fatal accident at 6 o'clock last evening. He had been visiting a country customer, and was riding ii rather high-spirited' horse, which, when he mounted* bolted with him. In overtaking a trap going in the Mime direction the runaway swerved, and Sharp enme oh" on hw head, striking the wheel of the vehicle violently, and fracturing the base of the skull. He was removed to the hospital, but succumbed at 9 p.m. Mr Sharp was aged about 35 years, and his wife resides at Auckland. He was on his second trip to Gisborne. A verdict of accidental death, no blame tfeing attachable to anyone, was returned. INVKRCARGILL, March William Carter, aged 70, an old lesident of Biyerion, and cook at a tlaxmill, dropped dead at the station while going to board Ihe train. The real name of the man who dropped dead at, the railway station was William Point on McClurc. It is 'believed he .has relatives at- Tima.ru. He had been known, lately as William Carter.
