COUNTY COUNCILS CONFERENCE.

February ; 22, A conference of delegates from, the various county councils .in Tarimaki met here to-day to discuss tug difficulties in the collection of rates on native lands. It. was resolved to make representation, to the Minister on the matter. The conference also <3i.scn.ssed the spread of noxious weeds, and passed resolutions favouring better provisions in the lair tfbr dealing with weeds' on-lands 'in native occupation, advocating temporary inspectors of noxious weeds at certain times, and that the inspectors in charge he cmpowered to prosecute without further reference to the Department. .
