FIRE AT SEA.
HAVEBSHAM ORANGE ABANDONED United Press Association— ; Per Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received 12.23 a.m., October 29tb. CAPETOWN. October 28. The steamer Haveisham Grange left Cape Yerde on October 9. When she was 800 miles from Capeto-wn a fire was discovered in the hold. It spread rapidly. The steameft Mataka {?) arrived vvhile the vessel was blazing, rescued' the passengers, and !:mded them at- Capetown. The Haversham Grange was abandoned. SYDNEY, October 23. The Hnversham Grange had a general cargo for Australian ports. It is thought here that the name of the rescuing vessel should be the Matatua.
