Mr Paul, and Mr Bylees, the latter ol whom was anxious to save the lives of Captain Bull's murderers, stated that the officem when attacked- surrendered their guns and refused, to fire in self-defence. (Opposition cheer*.) /His-, enquiry-had elicited that the Court was unanimous in regard to the villagers' guilt, their premeditation and concerted action, and he declared that the officers had' behaved with extreme forbearance and self-restraint. Their assailants persisted in their attack with great brutality.
