The townsfolk mobbed the motor, whereupon Mr Vanderbilt drew a<-revolver. The mob showered fruit, vegetables and mud, on the occupants of the car, acd Mrs Yanderbilt fainted. Carabineers rescued the Yanderbilts just when they were about to be dragged from the motor.
