There was only a small attendance at the National Mortgage and Agency Company's sale rooms on Saturday afternoon, a couple of properties were offered. 'The first was a quarter acre in Raymond street, '-with a five-roomed cottage, under a jear old, and with necessary conveniences. An opening was made at £350, and one «€her bid •of £375, was made. At this iignre the lot was passed to Mr F. Lamb. The reserve was announced' to be £450. Tie second lot was a half-acre section in Dee street, a six-roomed house, offered on account of Mr P. W. Hutton. -'Only one bid was made, Mr J. H. Mad- . -docks offering £6OO, and at- that price the "nt was passed in to him. TATTERS ALL'S YARDS. The C.F.C.A. report on the horse niarTaet at Tattersall's yards on Saturday as follows :—Owing to harvest operatioris being m full swing the entry was not so large as nsual, but there was'a fair demand for «11 young draught horses, and light harness horses at prices on a par with late values. Rutland reports on his weekly sale on Saturday as The entry of was smaller than usual, but there was a. good sale of . general 'goods. boosters brought 2s 3d to & 6d, and hens Is 9d to 2s 6d per pair ; geese, 2s : 6d eaea; aJncke, 3s 6d per pair: A. number of bicycles were sold at £8 each, these, being •similar ones to those sold last Saturday.- A lot of fruit was disposed of at let'"s>''l£d 3»er lb for apples, plums 2s 6d to 5s per case. _ Onions, Id per lb. CAIN'S TERACE AUCTION ROOMS, Mr Moss Jonas reports as follows: Business during the past week has l been, de.cidedly brisk, and. there has been a good •demand for furniture of all kinds and the clearing- which I held this week .showed a great improvement to those held previously. There has aJso been a better ■demand' for fowls, wheat, and potatoes, ■while fowls have improved a little in jrice. On Tuesday I held a clearing sale *f household furniture at the reoidea-je. <•'. Mr J. S. Pearson, North .street, vhen aiere was a very large attendance of Jny«r»j and bidding was very spirited.
