-.WASBDYKEV. ST. JOHN'S. A tennis match .between the St. John's and \Washdyke Clubs took place yesterday. The weather was fine, but rather too op•■pressivc for vigorous exercise. The courts were Jn .nice order, and the match proved very enjoyable. .The visiting team ai;d -friends were entertained at afternoon te:i. and Mr Cooke on behalf- of the' Washdvke Club ...cordially, thanked the St. John'* *fr.i the kindly way the visitors had been treated.. The match resulted in a verv - easy win for the home club. Play oil the whole was very fair, and as the Wash-, ■uyke is this ysar's entry, so. far as matches . -are concerned, it speaks well for the members' courage in battling against older clubs.
