WASEDYKE STOCK SALE.

At this sale yesterdciy there was a fair yarding of sheep and moderate yarding of cattle. Fat ewes made 12s 6d. 13s 4d, to 14s; fat wethers, heavy weights, 2Cs, ordinarv 17s 6d to 18s 3d. Cattle, fat steers £5 5s to £7 15s; springers '£4 7g 6d to £4 10s.

ASHBTJRTON, February 15. About 4500 sheep, mostly lambs, and 30 cattle were yardsd at the Ashburton yards to-day. The yarding of sheep was the largest for some considerable time and on the -whole a good tone prevailed throughout the market. The demand for lambs was very goodl, and stores and fats sold at firm, values and there was little margin . in values between the two classes. The ' sales effected -wsre 12 fat ewes at 13s, 23 -ditto at lis lOd, 21 ditto' at- 12s, 21 ditto at lis 10d, 26 ditto at 10s. 6d, 17 mermo wethers at 14s, 13 ditto at 7s Bd, 27 4 and 6-tooth wethers at 16s 7d, 20 ditto at- 16s Bd, 20 ditto at 16s 9d, other . fat wethers at 16s 6d to 18s lOd; 126 prime 'freezing -wethers sold at 19s 3d, 45 fat lambs at 14s 6d and 261 at 15s; -nnfinished e-wes Tealised' 8s 2d. Store - «heep met with a better demand than has been the case of late. Lambs especially -were in demand and were quitted at good rates. The individual sales were—2os fair conditioned lambs at 13s 4d; 390 at 13s 2d, 133 at 12s lOd, 188 at lis 2d, 102. at lis 2d, 302 at 12s 9d and 214 at lis 8d; -20 small lambs 7s 2d and a line of 235 weedy lambs at 4s 4d;258 ewes and 345 lambs (all counted) sold at Bs. One thousand lambs were passed in at 9s 2d but a portion of this line was afterwards cleared at 9s 6d. Two hundred and ten 2-tooth halfbred wethers realised 14s 8d and 989 ditto, which were passed at 13s Ud, were afterwards quitted at a- satisfactory figure; 52 ' 4 and 6-tooth halfbred ■vrethers sold -at. 15s. • Gattle—There was no demand for stores; the supply of fats was smally and the market extremely lifeless. Fat cows sold at £4 10s to £4 15s, and dairy cows at £2, £2 10s, £2 15s to £4.
