TIMARU A. & P. SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Timaru Arricultural and Pastoral Association was held in their rooms on Saturday afternoon. Present—Mr Alex. Scott (president), Mr A. S. Elworthy (vice-president), Messrs W. J. Bassett, Alex, Bisset,' Robt. Davie, Donald Grant, E. R. Guinness, Wm. Irving, R. Kelland. G. Lyall, H. Lowrv. M. Maze, C. N. Orbell, R. Parry, James Scott and G. A. U. Tapper. Apologies were received from Messrs T. Tcschemaker and J. Maling. A letter was received from the Minister of Railways, stating that the Association's complaint re difficulty of forwarding horses to the Christchurch. Show was being inquired into. It was decided to hold the annual ram fair on Tuesday, 27th March. The secretary asked for' a list- of names of persons competent and willing to act as judges at agricultural shows, for the purpose of having them inserted in the list of judges now about to be published. On the motion of Mr Lowrv, seconded by Mr TBassett, Messm A. S." Elworthv, A. Scott, R. Parry, D. Grant, R. Kelland, E. R. Guinness, D. Davie, Win. Hay, and R. Irving were appointed a sub-committee to select names, and submit same at the next meeting for approval. The president gave notice that nominations fcr the incoming committee must, in accordance with the rules, be in the hands of the secretary on -or before >Saturdav 3rd of March.
Accounts amount icg to £1 18s were passed for payment. Mr Lowry gave notice of the following motion for the annual meeting:—"That rule 21 be deleted, and that the following be inserted in lieu thereof—' That the annual show be held on the Association's grounds on such dates in each rear as the committee at its absolute discretion may deem advisable.'"
