WELLESLEY STAKES, for two year olds—Mungeet 1, Marguerite 2, King Billy 3 Also ran Glenowlet The latter led .for a couple of furlongs when Mungeet took charge and won comfortably by a length. Dividend, £1 lis. WELLINGTON CUP Nightfall 1, Melodeon 2, Jeanne D'Arc 3. All started. A splendid race Achilles, Nightfall and Red Gauntlet were in front for six furlongs when Jeanne D'Arc joined in. After a mile had been covered". Achilles and-Red-Gauntlet were done with, and- both Ghoorka and Melodeon moved up Jeanne D'Arc and Nightfall were on terms as they turned for home, then Melodeon put in a challenge and a desperate finish resulted m a head victory, a neck between second and third; Quarryman fourth. TELEGRAPH HANDICAP—Petrovna 1, Ballarat 2, Golden Lily 3 Al} started but Red Gauntlet Petrovna and Ballarat were in front the whole way, the first named winning by a couple of lengths Dividends, £3 and £2 7s 6d.
