PRAYERS FOR VICTORY. THE BALTIC-FLEET. .
ARRESTED AS SPIES.
ST. PETERSBURG, September 13. The Holy Synod directs special prayers to be said for the victory of Christ's •loving army over a cruel enemy full of guile. The Baltic fleet, under Admiral Rajestvensky, sailed from Kronstadt on Sunday, nominally for the Far East.
Two Japanese naval officers emjployed : in a commercial house in St. Petersburg, who joined the Greek Church, have been arrested as spies. , Compromising documents were found in their possession.
Mr Bennet Burleigh has arrived at Tientsin, having quitted the Japanese lines owing to the too rigorous- restrictions placed upon military attaches. Correspondents are not permitted to see the fighting nearer than six miles. He emphasises the fact that- the Japanese General Staff dislike and distrust all foreigners.-
