MELBOURNE GRAIN MARKETS. The National Mortgage and Agency Company's produce market report for 28th Jnly, contains the following:— On the whole the month has been wet; a few severe but beneficial frosts have oc- *) curred, and from all sides crop reports sire good. Fanners are finishing their late Bowing. fc -wheat the air has been cleared by the removal of a few large lin«s of importeds from the market. Stocks are now fairly concentrated, mostly in ' users' hands, so that some difficulty has been experienced to meet the casual and country demand at late ratess, and buyers eventually '.gave way; following sellers up. The Sydney market firmed its sympathy with litis, and stocks of local f.a.q. are now bo small in Adelaide that it is difficult to secure this quality even at increased prices. . Quotations : —Victoriati, ,»5s to -5s 3d; South' Australian, ex ship, to arrive, 6s ; Caiifornian, 5s 2id; Argentine and Indian, os Id. Oats are quiet, Irat persistent, buying has absorbed the bulk of the best of the Algerians, and , of this quality the market is now bare. Wool —The nvirkei has been quiet during the •-•> st Wire? weeks, and pending the open; *. of the -ales on the 7th July there is liftle likelihood of any parcels gauging hands. From Yorkshire and the continent the reports indicate that in merino v/oo's caution is bdng exercised by

all concerned, and manufacturers still complain that • they cannot get their custom mersto pay prices proportionate with the price of the raw material. Stocks must, however, be small, and prospective supplies ' are also in very small compass. Urossbreds of medium and coarse grades, on the other hand, are in excellent request, and higher prices are being asked than was the case a month ago, so that prospects for these qualities at the forthcoming series are favourable.
