Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, April 15. 'I hi-, morning the Conference passed the following resolution : "That the Government be urged to establish boot, tailoring, and saddlery factories, ironworks and iron ship building yards, and nationalise the intercolonial service." "That the Government amend the Compensation for Accidents Act. compelling employers to provide medical attendance or first aid in case of accidents." " That the Compensation for Accidents Act be amended to allow Unions to sue for compensation on behalf of members of sneh Unions." It was also decided that women receive equal pav for equal work, that the parliamentary" franchise apply to elections of all local "bodies, and that electors on such roll have the right to vote on any questions submitted to a poll. ask the Government to stop plural voting at local elections. Id was resolved that all divisions of districts for local bodies' elections be abolished. It was resolved that the chairman of all local bodies be appointed by the electors. It was resolved to provide for the election of Charitable Aid Boards by district electors. Certain amendments were proposed in the Regulation of Local Elections Act After a debate the payment of Municipal Councillors was affirmed, and the necessity for workers taking more interest in the "work of municipalities was stronglv urged -Vn amendment to delete the resolution dealing with the payment of Councillors was los° by 9 votes to 3 votes. A motion to urge the abolition of the Legislative Council was carried unanimously. A resolution was passed that the Government be urged to prohibit the further sale of Crown lands, and to secure the periodical valuation of Crown lands held on lease. The debate was adjourned.
