Two first-offenders, strangers to Timaru, pleaded guilty to being drunk on Thursday, and were convicted and discharged with "a caution. WAIMATE—FRIDAY, MARCH 20th. (Before Messrs J. Manchester and W. Petit, J.P.s.) ' / POLICE CASES. John Watson was charged with having used obscene language in a public place on the 19th instant, also with resisting the police when they were arresting him. For the bad language he was fined £2, and for resisting the police £l. John Dooley was fined 5s for drunkenness. Robert Oliver, alias James McDonald, wag remanded to Dunedin on a, charge of haTing failed to maintain his illegitimate child.
