A deputation of unemployed asked the leader of the Opposition to insist on calling Parliament together immediately to deal with the distress. They stated that they had a list of 4000 persons in the city on the verge of starvation, and told harrowing tales of want amongst the workless. CARDINAL MORAX'S JUBILEE. Cardinal Moran yesterday celebrated the jubilee- of his ordination as a priest. TEE ARLTUXGA GOLDFIELDS ADELAIDE, March 20. The three days rain at the Arltunga goldfiehls has assured a supply of water fcr months. All the reefs are reported to be improving in quality and size as a sweater depth is reached. A rich reef has been struck axd named the Melba claim. FIRE IX A MINE. MELBOURNE. March 20. The seat of the fire which has broken out in the New Hopeful mine at Eaglehawk is still undiscovered. All work is stopped in the two adjoining mines. OUTBREAK OF ANTHRAX. A serious outbreak of anthrax is reported at Keilor.
