The enquiry into the collision between the Wakatipu and the Eurimbhi commences on Thursdav next. AiIKRICAN WHEAT. Another three thousand tons of wheat have arrived from San Francisco. THE MISSIONS. Cardinal Moran accompanied by a number of laymen visits the missions in Nor r folk Island, Tonga. Samoa. Fiji, NewHebrides, and New Caledonia in August next. A private cab!e message which has been received by the Wesleyan Missions Board from Fiji, states that trouble has arisen in Suva and the provinces through the testaments from Namosi being burned on a limekiln. The secretary to the Missions understands the message to mean that a number of testaments which had been collected from the district of Namosi, where a large number of people who ate under the influence and orders of their principal chief had turned over from the Methodist Mission to the Roman Catholics, were collected and taken to the principal Catholic Mission nt Naililili and burned at the limekiln there. VICTORIAN POLITICS. MELBOURX'E. February 20. .The Income Tax Bill was recommitted and an amecdmeat was carried placing Assurance Companies, local and foreign, on a uniform basis by taxing thirty per cent. of the incomes a, shilling in the pound. EXPORT OF SUGAR. BRISBANE. February 20. Queensland sugar exported to date amounts to 58.QC0 tons against 74,000 tons for the same period last vear. STATE BORROWING. Treasury bills for £600,000 at 102, bearing interest at 4 per cent., have been placed on the local market. PLAGUE. Another citse of plague is reported. PERTH. February 20. A case of plague has occurred in the city, and another in Fiemant'e. SIR J. G. WARD. HOBART. February 20. Sir J. G. Ward arrived last night, and v.-,is met and welcomed br the Premier.
