MAKING EXCELLENT PROGRESS.

LONDON. February 4. Although the King's visit to Chatsworth is definitely abandoned, it is otScially stated that his Majesty is making excellent progress, and had passed a satisfactory night. Received 10.49 p.m.. Februarv "sth. LONDON. Febtuarv 5. His Majesty the King is making" splendid progress. Sir Francis Laldng. physician-in-ordinary to the King, reports that the period m which any complication is likelv is already past, and he anticipates early convalescence. The "Lancet'' is authorised to state that the King had for a week past not been feeling in his usual health; that His Majesty complained on Friday of a more sensitive cold than usual; tha't the attack of influenza was slight, and that His Majesty had not been confined to his bed, only to his room.
The King's and Queen's thoughtful message expressing regret to the authorities and th-t people of Derbyshire that thev were unable to pay a visit to Chatsworta, is warmly appreciated
