The National Miners' Congress has decided by 129 votes to 125 votes upon a general "strike in favour of the eight hour system. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 7. The Wellington Employer*' Association is taking a poll of the employers in the district, with a view to discovering- their opinion as to whether the Arbitration and Conciliation Act has been beneficial in promoting good feeling and in increasing the efficiency of workmen; or whether at has been productive of evils in creating disputes between employers and employed, and limiting development of trade.
