The Bank of England reserve is £26,743.000; coin and bullion, £35,102,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 47.18; in circulation, £28,542,000; public deposits, £16,799,000; other deposits, £39,645,000; Government securities, £17,274,000 ; other securities,' £30,789,000. Three months' bills are discounted at 2| per cent. Consols, 94-f. New South Wales 34 per cent, stock, 1034 r Tasmanian, 104-j; Western Australian, 102. Other stock quotations are unchanged. .ii.ii The wheat markets are qmet but steady. Business in cargoes is dull. Victorian January and South Australian January - February shipments are quoted at 30s. The butter market is firm ; colonial, 110s to I12s; New Zealand, occasionally, 114s. The high prices are checking business. Danish is firm, but prices are unchanged. The sugar market is steady; quotations is firm; spot, 55f ; three months, 554. Pig iron, 53s 9d. Lead, £ll Us lid. : Spelter, 17J. - Bradford tops are steady- and firm, but prices are uncharged.
