Kumara arriTed at Wellington • vesterday morning from London and Hohart. • The s.s. Mombassa sailed from Lyttel- • ton for Durban at 10.30 yesterday morn•ing. The ship Corolla sailed yesterday mornng for Home. Owing to the heavy sea . rtoning, she rolled a good deal when going ont of the entrance. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 22. The steamer ElmvrUe, a large timber•carVier chartered by the Kauri Timber QsSmpany, struck with considerable force Tokatoka. The steamer was going at half speed, and_did,not stop. A survey '" showed"-three plates to be seriously damaged, and bolfs loosened in the watertight compartment. Permissioa was given to load for Melbourne, where.repairs will be effected. LYTTELTOIT, August 23. Arrived at midnight, Tarawera s.s., from Wellington with the San Francisco mail.
