MORRIS TUBE MATCH.

The Port Guards fired off a match for two trophies last night, 28 members competing. The shooting all round was very good two men getting over the possible, including their handicap. The winners were Private C. Cowles (Mr E. Pratt's prize), and Private Griffin (Private Bryan's prize). The following were the twelve highest scores:—

The team to represent the Guards against Temuka to-night is as follows :—Col.-Sergt. Stephen, Sergeant J. Beckingham, Corporal Foster, Privates Pearson, A. Burford, G. Burford, Watterous, Rogers, Murphy, and C. Cowles; emergencies, Privates Bond, and Toneycliffe and Corporal Stevens. The following team has been picked to represent the Temuka. Rifle Morris Tube Club in their match against the Timaru Port Guards this evening, in Timaru: — Cpl.-Sergt. Chapman, Sergeant Edwards, Sergeant Orr, Corporal Barry, Corporal McLeod, Privates. Elmsley, Jessop, Collins, Pye, and C. Chapman; reserve, Lieutenant Feilden and Private Bateman.
