In the House of Commons, Lord Cranborne stated that Prince Tuan was undergoing perpetual imprisonment in Turkestan. China had given a pledge that there would be no commutation of the sentence. Tungfuhsiang had been banished to Kausu, where he was awaiting further puniihnwnt. Received 9.7 p.m., May Bth.
Mr Brodrick stated in the House of Commons that altogether 396 foreigners had' been captured during the South African' campaign, including 45 Frenchmen, 42' Russians, 36 Americans, and 273 Germans. One hundred' and fifty out of the total claimed to be naturalised burghers.
