While repairing a bridge between Hogsthorpe and Chapel St. Leonard's, in Lincolnshire, saye the London " Daily Mail," the f workmen state that'on reaching the centre'of "one of the concrete walls, which are" eighteen inches thick,- a living toad was found sitting in a small hollow away from all light and air. The bridge was built 46 years; ago, and how the toad got there is a mystery. It was covered with large white carbuncles.
