THE MEETING AT OAMARU. Per Press Association. OAMARU, May 1. The coursing season was opened at the North Otago Plumpton to-day, when 60 dogs competed for the Challenge Stakes. Some splendid contests were witnessed. The escapes answered well. Only the first round was run to-day. All the Timaru dogs were and showed splendid form, Mr McAuliffe s and Mr McKenna's beating their opponents almost pointless. To-morrow Mr McAuliffe's dog meets Lord Roberts, Mr McKenna's Ilex, and Mr Fitzsimmons' Princess May. ..
