SEYMOUR'S KINEMATOGRAPH CONCERT COMPANY.

There was a very good attendance in spite ■of the bad weather at the Theatre Royal last night when the Seymour Kinematograph Company gave the first of two exMbitions which are to be given in Timaru. Owing to the company's pianist being nn•well there was no concert, and the services of a Timaru musician had to be utilised. The pictures on the whole are a well collected lot, the most important the funeral procession of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria, which is thrown on to the screen for a period of about fifteen minutes, the film being 400 feet in length. The -pictures on the whole are very clear, and some of them are quite free from flickering. Considering the funeral photos were taken in dull rainy weather they are splendid, and the company have been congratulated all along at being able to bring them to such a successful standard. In the first part of the entertainment a good number of miscellaneous views were given, tie chief being a diving scene at Brigaton, blowing iff the gate§T>f r Tientsin by the British, the Albion disaster in which the boats are seen going to the rescue of the drowning, a street fight in Dublin, and Dr Grace's jubilee procession in Lord's cricket ground, where the veteran is plainly seen walking to the pavilion. The second act mostly consists of Royal Photos, <f he body of the Queen lying in state, of the TCtng and Queen, Duke and Duchess of York, and the Queen's funeral cortege passing through Windsor, where the escort of the Life Guards, the coffin drawn oh a gua carriage by the blue jackets, the "King, the massed bands, representatives of foreign states, and hosts of others, are seen. In the last part of the programme Mr Drisoll gave a splendid performance on the slack wire, taking off and putting on !m outside dress and performing various other citfii ult feats. Pictures of the late Right Hcu. W. E. Gladstone's funeral, clowns in Sangier's circus, London, and a hungry traveller brought a very good entertainment to a close. To-night there will be a change of programme, when fuller pictures of the Queen's funeral will be given. The company will give a concert this evening. A larger screen will be used, and Mr Driscoll appear in a new act. Given fine weather the company deserve a packed house.
