» United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph —Copy right. Received March 24th, 9.20 am. Sydney, March 24. A start is being made to manufacture serum locally, but it will take months to produce. The Archbishop has issued a special prayer of deliverance from the plague, and it has been read in the Anglican Churches. (Received March 24th, 9.50 a.m. The whole of the proclaimed plague area has been closed to the public, and barricades are being erected. The supply of serum Is fast being exhausted. Ten thousand doses from India are expected in about three weeks, Efforts are being made to obtain some f iom Pasteur's Institute in Paris. Received March 24th, 2J5 p.m. The post mortem revealed that the supposed case o! plague at Surry Hills was a case of heart disease. Received 4.30 p.m., March 25th. March 25. A man naned Jordan residing in the infected area has been quarantined, as he is suspected of suffering from the plague. The inspectors are making house to house visits in the infected area. A number of places are reported as very Insanitary, and some as unfit for human habitation. Cleansing operations will commence on Monday. More than 8000 persons have been inoculated. Received March 26th, 12.25 a.m. Two more cases of plague are reported, the patients being Mills and Hall, who are both employed at widely divergent points in George street. One death has occurred in quarantine, that of a patient named Haynes, The Premier has decided to quarantine any warehouse where an outbreak of the plague occurs. Perth, March 25. The shipping companies complain that their business is seriously interfered with by the work of destroying the rats.
