Lieutenant-Colonel B-ink.?, the officer commanding t lie Auckland Volunteer Di3trie% hvs received a telegram from Wellington directing him to send all members of mounted corps who have volunteered for service in the Transvaal to Wellington at once for training. Ten men of the Waikato Mounted R ; fle3 have volunteered. Amongst them ate several men who have been at the O-ipo, and one was a member of the Cap. 1 Mounted Kiflea for years. Dr Perceval has offered t:> m-ike the trip as surgeon should the Waikato men be taken. The contingent will probably leave on Sund;iy for Wellington. WELLINGTON, October 5. The training camp for the New Zealand Contingent if to be formed at Kirori, a suburb of Welling on. Arrangements have been made to take delivery of horees promised for the men at the railway station. Tenders are being called for the supply of rationa to the Transvaal contingent during their period of training in the camp, which ia to be formed at Karori. CHRISTCHURCH. October 5 Major Robin and six members of the C.Y.O. volunteers for the Transvaal, left for Wellington to-night. ASHBURTON, Octobers Six privates and one bugler for the Transvaal service hay** volunteered from C Company, Ashburton RifL s. DUNEDIN, October 5. Up to the present 16 memberj of the Hussars, nine of the North otigo and nine of the Clutha Mounted Rifles, have offered for service for the Transvaal. The men are undergoing medical inspection.
