■» Oa Saturday last the Winchester School boys, accompanied by their master, journeyed to Geraldine to play the return match with that school. The weather proved beautiful and the game was one of the most interesting school matches played at Geraldine for several years. The teams were well matched, but the Geraldine forwards proved too heavy for the Winchester lads. Early m the first spell a Winchester lad cleverly potted a gaol and this was the only time the visitors scored. Geraldine gained three tries, one of which wag neatly c6nverted and the game resulted -Geraldine 11 points, Winchester 4 points. The backs on both sides played an excellent game. TheGeraldineladsexcelledin passing and running, while the Winchester lads collared and kicked splendidly. Mr Gore, of Geraldine, roadea most impartial referee, and bDth sides played the game m a most friendly spirit. The Geraldine boys intend to visit Winchester m a fortnight, when an interesting match is expected.
